Optometry WA Renewal Option
You can renew online when you access your Optometry Australia Member Hub and generate your invoice with EFT details or credit card link for payment in full.
If paying by instalment is preferred, then please select this option and have your credit card handy to enter your details in to the system.
The first payment will be taken at the time of renewing and the next will be automatically debited from your nominated credit card on the 1st of each month, commencing the 1st August through to the 1st June 2025.
If you need to update your credit card details during the 12 months, please call the OWA office to action

How do I renew?
- Log in to your OA Member Hub
- Click on My Membership Tab top left & then Membership
- Select the Renew Button
- Select your membership category for 2024-2025
- Check your inbox* for your Membership Renewal Confirmation
- You can downgrade or upgrade your membership category during 2024-2025**
* Check your junk inbox as well for emails from Optometry Australia
** Changes to membership must be for any permanent change to hours worked per week
Full Time Membership
Category Definition
- Registered with AHPRA
- Practising 16 hours or more per week
- Option to pay in full or over 12 monthly instalments

Immediate Graduate Membership – New Membership
Category Definition
- Registered with AHPRA
- Members practising during the first six months following completion of an optometry degree
- Your previous membership category will have been Student or not a member
- This membership category offers 6 months free membership

Career Break Category – 6 Or 12 Months Available
Career Break Membership is a highly-subsidised membership option for optometrists taking a complete break from work in the optometry industry for a minimum of 6 months (monthly fee payments only).
It was developed to cater to the needs of those members who may not be working in or deriving any income from the optometry profession for a variety of reasons including full-time parental leave, carer’s leave, extended overseas stay or full-time study in another discipline.
It offers continued membership of OA but NO Professional Indemnity Insurance – Terms & Conditions Apply. You must not practice optometry either in Australia or Overseas if you take a Career Break Membership.

Retired Membership

- Retired
- Not registered and retired from practice
- There is no current Professional Indemnity Insurance associated with this membership as you will have your run off cover since retired from practicing.
- There is no fee associated with this membership category
Academic Membership
Category Definition
- Registered with AHPRA
- Eligible for registration to practice
- Engaged in full time research, teaching, or both
- Practising optometry between 4 & no more than 16 hours per week
- Option to pay in full or over 12 monthly instalments
