Do you love karaoke or singing in the shower? Are you a musician who loves a singalong? Following the enormous success of We Are Here, Optometry Australia’s (OA) lockdown virtual choir in 2020, you are warmly invited to join the OA Pub Choir.

We know that many of you LOVE music, and singing has many benefits. So why not join our first-ever (as far as we know!) choir of Aussie optometrists, starting with a performance at the upcoming Optometry Clinical Conference in Melbourne on 17-18 August. Today, Tomorrow, Together!

It doesn’t matter if you’ve never sung, or don’t read music. Or perhaps you’re an accomplished musician already. We will send you audio tracks to learn in your own time, and for those who are music literate, we will email you vocal scores of your nominated parts. Everyone learns differently. We will be in contact by email to organise the rest.

The OA Pub Choir will be led by our very own talented musician, Sophie Koh (OA Director, Professional Services) who has several albums, musical collaborations and performances in her repertoire.

To register your interest for this volunteer choir, please fill out the expression of interest form. You must register as a conference delegate at Optometry Clinical Conference to participate. All OA members are welcome, from students to retired members. For more information, read our FAQs.

Our debut performance will bring optometrists together from across Australia. We look forward to lifting our voices as one, with you!

Acknowledgement of Country

In the spirit of reconciliation Optometry Australia acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of country throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community. We pay our respects to their Elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.
