By Optometry Australia

As of Monday morning 23rd March it appears all State Governments have agreed to align with Federal advice on the range of businesses to be included in this week’s shutdown.

Consequently, at this stage it appears optometry practices in all states and territories will be able to stay open (if they wish) from Tuesday, and confirmation is being sought from Health Ministers in all jurisdictions.

As the situation is fluid and evolving rapidly it would be prudent to be planning ahead for any change in official advice and the possibility of enforced shut downs in the near future.

We are currently considering provisions for emergency optometric care and are developing plans to support each jurisdictional government.

Please note HR responsibilities during shut down periods are covered in our resources online and we will be providing further updates over the course of the day.
