Welcome to 2020

From all of us at Optometry Australia, we wish you a very special happy new year. With 2020 being the year of good vision for life, this is a one-off opportunity for us all to showcase optometry like never before over an extended 12-month period. There is no better year than 2020 to highlight the importance of eye health and to focus people’s attention on the need to look after their eyes.

2020 also marks the 20-year countdown to 2040 – the transformational timeframe we have identified that will bring substantial change to our sector. We will have workshops and webinars to ensure we continue to provide you with the skills to thrive within our ever changing, fast-moving world.

The start to 2020 has been difficult in the wake of the terrible devastation of the bushfires. We want to recognise all our members in the impacted regions, for all that they are doing to support their communities. Please remember, we are always here to assist you and we know that the broader optometry sector is also willing to help in any way you may need.

May 2020 be a successful year where together, we continue to work towards our preferred future for optometry.
