Learning Objectives

  • To practice use of the algar brush and gauge needles in the removal of agar and grape simulated foreign bodies
  • To revisit contemporary management of proliferative diabetic retinopathy
  • To understand the different MF IOL design options available currently available
  • To understand contraindications of foreign body removal including the observation of an abnormally shaped pupil, lacerations, penetrating wounds or hyphema, and recognise situations where the optometrist is not confident in its removal.
