Learning Objectives

  • Understand the need to check for astigmatism at >0.5D and above
  • Recognise the need to keep up to date with technology in order to offer the latest comfort and fit to patients
  • Realise that increased computer use requires contact lenses with high levels of wettability over a longer period of time
  • Recognise that more than one dioptre of astigmatism is clinically significant and new designs available in toric lenses can ensure visual clarity
