Optometry Australia has appointed Ramy Aziz to the national board.

Bringing blue-chip financial expertise to the table, Mr Aziz was the former Chief Financial Officer of ASX Ltd., and holds a wealth of experience in the finance, strategy, risk and governance sector. With a keen interest in healthcare, particularly in promoting professionals working in the health industry, and the provision of improved health outcomes overall, Mr Aziz is a valuable addition to the Optometry Australia national board.

Throughout his career, he has served as both a non-executive director and senior executive. He has primarily worked within the finance sector, and has experience serving on audit and risk committees for ‘for-purpose’ organisations in the healthcare and education sectors, including organisations representing and promoting professionals within pharmacy and finance. He has also held senior positions within banking and other financial services companies.

Ramy is a Fellow Certified Practicing Accountant (FCPA), which recognises him as an expert in the field of accounting and finance, and also a member of the Governance Institute of Australia.

Optometry Australia President Margaret Lam said: ‘We are delighted to welcome Ramy to the national board. Optometry Australia will benefit greatly from his invaluable skills in treasury, governance and general business acumen.’
