The British Contact Lens Association will hold its conference outside the UK for the first time in its history.

The conference, titled ‘Correction for the Future’, will be held in Hong Kong on 13-14 September and is a partnership between the BCLA and the Hong Kong Cornea and Contact Lens Society.

BCLA president Brian Tompkins considers Asia to be an emerging market with huge growth in contact lenses.

The BCLA says that myopia management, presbyopia and dry eye are among the biggest issues the industry is facing and these topics will be addressed at the conference.

BCLA Asia will include sessions for up to 400 people on topics such as corneal topography and digital eye strain.

Registrants will be able to apply for and complete an assessment for BCLA Fellowship. Applications for fellowship close 31 July.

For details and to register online, visit BCLA Asia.
