The Department of Human Services is looking for large optometric practices to participate in a trial that looks at challenges practices face when billing under Medicare.

Practices must have four or more optometrists, regardless of location. Participating practices can be metropolitan, regional or rural based.

Billing mistakes can occur due to unrecognised risks related to business processes. DHS has developed a toolkit to help practices manage these risks and requires large practices to volunteer and participate in an eight-week trial of the toolkit to test its usefulness.

Information and details to register are available at www.humanservices.gov.au or lpptrial@humanservices.gov.au.

Members can contact OAA for more information at national@optometry.org.au.
