Optometry Australia members in the southern states will now receive a tailored newsletter with updates on the national online CPD calendar and in-person events in their local area.

The Your Education email, which is sent to members fortnightly on a Monday, will continue to provide details of Optometry Australia’s extensive, web-based live and on-demand CPD offering. It will now also include a section on face-to-face CPD events in the recipient’s state, bringing all education news under one banner.

This will reduce the number of emails that these members receive from Optometry Australia and will make it easier to plan your CPD activities throughout the year.

The change is part of the operational integration of Optometry Victoria South Australia and Optometry Tasmania with Optometry Australia, which commenced in November 2023.

Director, Member Engagement (Education), Sam Bonwick, said: ‘By tailoring our CPD communications to specific members, we hope to deliver a more streamlined experience and make it easier for you to access the information you need. This is a small but meaningful example of how we’re working more efficiently as a unified organisation.’

Members of Optometry New South Wales / ACT, Optometry Queensland /Northern Territory, and Optometry Western Australia will continue to receive the Your Education newsletter with updates on all national CPD programs, alongside separate email communications about in-person events from their state and territory divisions.

Acknowledgement of Country

In the spirit of reconciliation Optometry Australia acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of country throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community. We pay our respects to their Elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.
