‘Oral prescribing is a natural progression for optometry’

In his busy metropolitan practice, Darrell Baker often sees patients with eye conditions that would benefit positively and immediately from oral prescriptions. However, he is left deeply frustrated when he is unable to provide this service, despite it falling comfortably within his scope of practice.

National Diabetes Week: O=MEGA23/WCO4 to feature latest research about diabetes management

In the lead up to National Diabetes Week (9 – 15 July), optical health professionals are being encouraged to understand and familiarise themselves with the clinical signs and symptoms of dry eye disease among patients who have Type 2 diabetes, with more than 50 percent of those with the condition remaining undiagnosed.
