Optometry Australia’s digital evolution continues with the launch of a dedicated Jobs Board to meet sector demand.

Now live on optometry.org.au, the Jobs Board supports optometry-specific positions vacant, positions wanted and locum listings available throughout Australia.

Until its launch, almost 2,000 employment listings a year have been placed within Optometry Australia’s Classifieds section of the website. The volume of traffic to Classifieds, combined with the quantity of jobs advertised and the average 6.25 minutes spent within this section of the site, prompted the organisation’s decision to develop a dedicated Jobs Board.

CEO Lyn Brodie said, ‘We already attract huge traffic to our website and we believe that our new Jobs Board will be the leading place to find employment within optometry.

‘Our new website is particularly popular and intuitive providing an excellent opportunity to enhance our employment listings service’.

Visitors to the Jobs Board can search for jobs by state, city/location and category including full and part time opportunities and locum openings.

Advertisers can register once to be set up with an account which will make it easier for them to post job’s listings as they arise.

Optometry Australia is introducing a new, highly competitive fee structure for employment listings which will apply to all listings. Members who are seeking employment for themselves and not on behalf of a practice, corporation or locum service will be exempt from fees when placing a 50-word ‘position wanted’ listing.

For all other types of advertising, listing prices start at a low $35 (exc. GST) for a 50-word, 30-day listing, rising to $125 for a priority gold package listing.

Ms Brodie said, ‘This is very competitive compared with other digital employment services supporting our sector.

‘We believe our Jobs Board will offer an unparalleled quantity of listings and volume of traffic accessing those listings and provide terrific exposure to practices and organisations seeking to employ optometrists and optometry staff.’

The Jobs Board is part of Optometry Australia’s digital evolution which this year saw the launch of the organisation’s member-centric new website in May followed in August by optometry’s primary digital destination for CPD, the Institute of Excellence.

Ms Brodie confirmed that the organisation is maintaining its Classifieds platform to support members and organisations wishing to sell, lease or purchase equipment, seeking partnership or wanting to purchase or lease practices and rooms.
