Optometry Australia is today launching a new membership system in the first phase of a major project to improve the IT services it provides to members.

The second phase involves implementing a new website to replace the current network of seven websites that incorporate the national organisation and six state organisations.

IT developer CocoNET Technologies has created the new membership database, known as the 360 Membership system.

The system will make it easier for members to update personal and professional details, select the information they want to receive, and enhance their visibility to current and future patients through the Find an Optometrist function.

Members are advised to check their inboxes today for an activation email to access the new, easy to use member portal. Every member is required to create a new password. Their membership number remains the same.

360 Membership is a cloud-based service that will provide 24/7 uninterrupted access to the membership system from any location. The system is also Payment Card Industry compliant and utilises data encryption technologies.

CocoNET will maintain the servers, update the software and back-up Optometry Australia’s data in a secure hosting facility based in Australia.
