Nearly 100 optometrists enjoyed high quality presentations and social networking with colleagues at North Queensland Vision in Cairns last weekend.

Optometry Queensland/Northern Territory organised the conference at Cairns Hotel.

NQV was the first Optometry Australia conference attended by Optometry Australia’s new CEO Lyn Brodie.

‘It’s important to meet members and to get a better understanding of what it’s like on the ground and I’m looking forward to many more opportunities to catch up with members around the country,’ Ms Brodie said.

‘It was also fantastic to see a group of early career optometrists participating with their more experienced peers.’

NQV featured a two-day clinical program incorporating lectures to suit all modes of practice and delivering more than 42 CPD points, and a trade show.

Optometry QLD/NT CEO Cathryn Baker said guests enjoyed dinner and drinks in the North Queensland tropics and those brave enough tackled the world’s fastest Minjin Jungle Swing through the rainforest canopy.
