The recruitment process is underway at Optometry Australia to appoint a new chief executive officer, with an advertisement posted through national channels.

The process is being led by national president Andrew Hogan, working with a sub-committee and an external consultant.

Current CEO Genevieve Quilty has held the position for five years and will step down on 17 February. She was previously national policy manager for Optometry Australia.

With a staff team of 22 people and an annual budget of approximately $5 million, the CEO will play a leading role with the National Board, set the next strategic agenda for 2018-2021, be responsible for the next phase of the organisation’s digital transformation, and be given the opportunity to appoint a new chief operations officer.
