The Australian Taxation Office is running free, face to face workshops for new, small business owners.

The workshops are taking place across eastern Australia until mid-June, providing practical tips on record-keeping and essential tax information.

The ‘Tax Essentials’ program covers how to register your business, how to use online reporting options and how to decide on a business structure.

How to keep good records, complete statements and the process of recording a stocktake are covered in the ‘Record Keeping’ program. Participants will work through case studies and examples during the workshop.

Visit the ATO website for information and to see if there is a free workshop near you.

More resources can be found on the ATO’s Small business newsroom website.

We pay our respects to their Elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.
